Project Overview

Cell C is undergoing a nationwide retail transformation, introducing a refreshed store design to reflect their bold and modern brand identity. Collaborating with Pan Africa, our team supplied a turnkey lighting solution tailored to meet Cell C’s new design specifications.

The Greenstone Mall store marks one of the first completed sites, with ongoing rollouts across malls throughout South Africa.

Project Challenges & Solutions

A major challenge was the short lead time for each store, particularly with the custom orange extrusions that require precise site-specific manufacturing. To ensure flawless installation, production only begins once final site measurements are confirmed, allowing the fittings to arrive ready for exact placement without on-site alterations.

Lighting Design & Fixtures

The lighting concept combines function with aesthetic precision, integrating fixtures seamlessly into architectural elements:

  • Custom orange linear extrusions – running from floor to ceiling as a striking design feature

  • Linears between wooden slats – adding texture and visual depth

  • Orapha R track spots – for focused retail illumination

  • Bontebok 145 R – providing balanced ambient lighting

  • Ruma strip lights – for subtle highlights and cove applications

A mix of pendant, track-mounted, recessed, and cove lighting was used to create a dynamic, layered visual environment throughout the retail space.
