The main objective of the lighting project at Nando’s Mafikeng was to create a welcoming atmosphere that elevates the dining experience while maintaining functionality and energy efficiency.
The client emphasized the need for an intimate and moody ambiance, achieved through carefully selected lighting techniques and fixtures.
To fulfill this vision, a combination of recessed lighting, strip lighting, and outdoor lighting was employed.
All internal lighting was designed to be dimmable, supporting both ambiance control and energy efficiency.
Addo – Feature lighting for general ambient zones.
Ruma – Accent lighting for dining and seating areas.
Namib – Functional lighting with character for internal spaces.
Meru – Decorative lighting to enhance visual interest.
Kruger – Durable and functional lighting for the Back-of-House areas.
Cylinda Up/Down – External wall lighting to highlight architectural elements and enhance the exterior mood.
This layered lighting approach allows flexibility in setting different moods throughout the day and night, supporting both operational efficiency and customer comfort.
